Oasis In Home Care
Compassionate Carehc

Here is a collection of the most frequently asked questions about the non-medical services provided by Oasis In-Home Care:

Q: "How do you select your caregivers?"

A: All of our caregivers are carefully interviewed and screened prior to becoming employees of Oasis In-Home Care. They typically have been in a caregiver roll in the past and are fully licensed, bonded and insured.

Q: "How do you train your employees?"
A: In addition to the experience our caregivers typically have, we have an exclusive, continuous training program that all of our caregivers are required to participate in. Also, if necessary, we will train each caregiver individually to meet the needs of your situation.

Q: What is "caregiver burnout"?
A: Caregiver burnout is a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion that may be accompanied by a change in attitude - from positive and caring to negative and unconcerned. Burnout can occur when caregivers (usually a family member) don't get the help they need, or if they try to do more than they are able. Caregivers who are "burned out" may experience fatigue, stress, anxiety, depression and loss of work. Find out the symptoms of burnout.

Q: "Can I help choose the caregiver and/or meet them in advance?"
A: Of course. Part of our service is being able to match the right caregiver with the personality of your loved one. We cover this topic during the initial interview so we can get a head start on selecting the right caregiver. We are very good at building relationships!

Q: "Are your services available for the elderly in nursing homes or assisted living facilities?"
A: Yes, we provide companionship to care facility residents who require additional attention and/or personalized assistance.

Q: "What happens if my caregiver is sick?"
A: That's why we employ a caregiver team approach. If one caregiver is sick, another is normally available. We certainly receive advanced notice of any vacation requests, so that is not usually an issue.

Q: "Who pays the caregiver - me or you?"
A: All of our caregivers are employees of Oasis In-Home Care. We simply invoice you for the services rendered and we take care of paying the caregivers, along with the taxes, insurance, benefits and other administrative requirements.

Q: "What are your rates and minimum hours of service?"
A: We bill on an hourly basis most of the time. The hours required to properly care for your loved one will be based on their needs assessed on the interview and on an ongoing basis. Please call us, toll free, at
1-888-98-OASIS [986-2747] or contact us online to speak with one of our Case Managers for details.

Q: “Why should I use your service instead of someone in the newspaper?”
A: There are multiple reasons why going with our service is preferable:

Our caregivers are our employees - That means they have been carefully screened and are bonded and insured. You don't have to worry about the quality of the caregiver or about the liability of having someone in your home - we take that responsibility.
We have backup - If the caregiver is sick or has an emergency, we have someone ready to step in his or her place - so you don't have to!
We have trained professionals on our staff - Besides our caregivers, we have a trained, professional in-house staff to ensure our operations run smoothly and to address any of your concerns while we are caring for your loved one.
We continually monitor the relationship - From the first day of service, we create a detailed "care plan" that our staff use to ensure we are achieving the care goals specified during the assessment interview. We follow-up with the client and caregiver on a regular basis.
We are a well-funded, profitable and stable company - That means we have the resources to go the extra mile and will be here when you call on us. We take pride in providing the highest quality service!

Q: "Is Oasis In-Home Care a maid service?"
A: No, but we do offer light housekeeping, laundry and ironing.
